Markham, Ontario, December 15, 2025 — Datamond System Inc. is pleased to announce that the company has been approved for funding through Ontario’s Critical Industrial Technologies (CIT) initiative under the Development & Commercialization program, delivered by the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI), with support from the Ontario government. This is one of the 185 CIT projects announced by Minister Fedeli on October 31, highlighting Ontario’s investment in future-forward technologies by industry including 5G, AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, quantum, and robotics.

Representing Ontario’s investment in home-grown critical technology product development for adoption by industry, the project has been awarded $100,000 to support the advancement and commercialization of Datamond’s AI-powered Warehouse Management System (WMS).
“Ontario’s innovators are driving the next generation of industrial transformation, and Datamond is a strong example of that momentum,” said Claudia Krywiak, President and CEO of the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI). “Through the Critical Industrial Technologies initiative, OCI is proud to support homegrown companies developing advanced, AI-powered solutions that enhance productivity, strengthen supply chains, and create real economic impact across the province.”
Datamond Systems Inc. is developing modular, AI-powered Warehouse Management System (WMS) designed to automate and optimize real-time inventory operations, with built-in ERP and accounting integration for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The solution is tailored for highly regulated industries such as agri-food, where managing perishable inventory and ensuring batch-level traceability are critical.
“The challenges facing Ontario companies require modern solutions that keep their operations moving and prevent logistical complexities from slowing down their growth,” said Raed Kadri, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Business Development and Head of OVIN at OCI. “Ontario is a global leader in AI-powered solutions, and through CIT, we’re empowering homegrown technologies to build the future of industry, create good-paying jobs, and deliver long-term economic growth for the people of Ontario.”
Their platform integrates AI, OCR, real-time stock intelligence, and ERP workflow automation to help Ontario’s agri-food, advanced manufacturing, and construction sectors strengthen inventory accuracy, traceability, warehouse efficiency, and improve financial management. The system is designed to support regulated industries that rely on batch tracking and perishables management.
“With support from OCI’s CIT program, we are accelerating the market readiness of a next-generation warehouse automation solution built here in Ontario,” said Kevin Shinn, Founder & CEO of Datamond System Inc. “This project enables us to validate our technology with industry partners and expand our commercialization capacity.”
The initiative is delivered in collaboration with ventureLAB as a CIT Technology Development Site (Dev Site). Through CIT, SMEs can access ventureLAB’s cutting-edge facilities, enabling them to test and validate their AI products and services in facilities that mimic real-world environments. SMEs, like Datamond, can leverage ventureLAB’s AI leadership to source validation and feedback in real time, supporting Ontario companies in accelerated development and integration of critical technology products.
Through the CIT initiative, leading Ontario companies – like Datamond – are taking charge by tackling widespread challenges with critical technology integrated solutions. Together, Datamond and the CIT initiative are building the future of industry in Ontario.
